Good to know
Most E9x cars sold in Europe came with xenon headlights. If your headlight has a large round low-beam projector with a xenon ballast underneath, you need D1S.
The high beam is always a halogen H7, also on xenon cars.
The angel eyes (parking ring) are not W5W on all versions – on later LCI cars they are LED.

Is the E90 low beam H7 or D1S?
Halogen cars use H7, xenon cars use D1S. Look at the back of the headlight: xenon units have a ballast and a D1S bulb with a large connector.
Can I use App Control H7 bulbs in the high beam?
Yes. Many owners fit H7 App Control bulbs in both the low and the high beam on halogen cars.
