D4S and D4R LED Bulbs: Xenon to LED
Quick answer: D4S and D4R are mercury-free xenon (HID) bulbs with a separate igniter. They are very common on Toyota and Lexus cars, and on other Japanese and Korean cars. D4S is for projector headlights and D4R for reflector headlights.

What is the difference between D4S and D4R?
D4S is made for projector headlights. D4R has a light shield on the glass for reflector headlights. Our App Control xenon bulbs come in D4S only.
Do I need to remove the xenon ballast?
Not with the plug & play Xenon to LED bulbs – they use your factory ballast and connector. The App Control xenon bulbs are different: they bypass the ballast, so the wiring must be modified.
Can I put these bulbs in halogen headlights?
No. D-series bulbs are made for factory xenon headlights only. If your car has halogen headlights, check our H7, H11, 9005 or 9006 LED bulbs instead.
